Busy Today.

I had the flu all last week and missed every single one of my classes and now I'm terribly behind.  Leaving after work tonight or tomorrow morning to drive home for Thanksgiving. There'll be lots of photo-ing in those 5 days I'm home.

Currently, I smell like cyanotype solution and van dyke emulsion.  I'm about to edit my images for my siblings project.  I might post some later if I'm still waiting for my paper to dry.

Lovers book Original Photographs

As promised here's a sneak preview of some of the contents of my Lovers book.

Edit: I have no idea why those photos are stretched. If you go to my flickr they look normal . I swear.

Ellie Brown

These images are from Ellie Brown's Lovers Books altered books series. I'm currently working on my own Lovers Book for my Digital Photo II final.  It's going to include scans, collages and original photographs.  I'll post some of the collages and original photographs later.

Highlights from Digital Photo II's Presentations

Today in my digital photo II class we each gave a presentation on an artist whom works in a digital photography format and here are some highlights that I found to be particularly interesting and relevant.

Richard Misrach

and last, but certainly not least you should check out this video clip from the Rachel Ray daytime show where Chris Jordan talks about his photographic works series "Running the Numbers".  I have a feeling that watching it will cause you to make some changes in your consumer choices.

Inspiration for my Alternative Processes Final

I was inspired by these works by Sally Mann for my final in alternative processes in photography. My own work will be a series of tight portraits of siblings shot digitally and then made into digital negatives to be exposed onto watercolor paper coated with cyanotype solution and van dyke emulsion. The sibling relationship fascinates me and I am very excited to explore this further.

Wowowowow

Well it's been almost a year since I posted in this blog.  I think it's time to get started with it again.
